Lenna May (Hawn) Rhodes, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.
Lenna was born on January 8, 1934, in Richmond, Ohio the daughter of Claude and May (Hayes) Hawn. She graduated from Kingsville High School Class of 1951. Lenna married the love of her life, Gordon R. "Dusty" Rhodes on November 1, 1952, and celebrated 27 wonderful years until his untimely death in 1980.
She worked as a nurse's assistant at Brown Memorial Hospital for many years, as well as Covered Bridge Pizza and the ACNRC as a receptionist. Lenna enjoyed helping her husband at Dusty and Steve's Automotive, as his "parts runner." She was a member of Amboy United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed going on bus trips, many with the Monroe Sirens. Lenna also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing 10,000 and in her earlier year's she enjoyed camping with her sister, Gwen. Her grandchildren will always cherish the afghans she crocheted for each of them upon their graduation.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Chuck) Dewey, Sheila (Ed) Dansereau, Dennis (Connie) Rhodes, Steven Rhodes and Janet (Mark) Falke; sisters, Leah Risley and Gwen Mitchell; brother, Claude (Cyndee) Hawn; 15 beloved grandchildren; and 26 wonderful great-grandchildren.
Lenna is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Dusty Rhodes; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Vivian Hawn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Chuck Hallett, Ruth Ann and John Reed and Chuck Risley; and great-grandson, Ethan McFeaters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, an additional calling hour will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 11:00AM until time of services at 12:00PM with Rev. David Hines, officiating. She will be entombed at Greenlawn Memory Gardens at a later date. The family requests masks be worn.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials in her name to the Amboy United Methodist Church, 554 W. Main Rd., Conneaut.
