Conneaut – Peggy L. Callahan, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Saybrook Landing.
She was born on August 30, 1939, in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of Roy E. and Esther (Baker) Bean. Peggy was a 1958 graduate of Conneaut High School Trojans. She was employed with Premix for 30 years and remained close with many of her coworkers long after retirement.
On January 4, 1959, she married the love of her life, Kenneth "Al" Callahan, with whom she shared many wonderful years.
Peggy lived a simple, fulfilling life. She loved crafting and sewing until her eyesight began to fade, tending to her flowers, and taking the occasional trip to the casino. An avid baseball fan, she proudly rooted for the Cleveland Guardians. Above all, Peggy treasured her family-especially her grandchildren. She supported them wholeheartedly, was active in their lives, and found great joy in being present for their milestones and accomplishments.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Cynthia) Callahan, Sherry (Chip) Theil, Suzy (Ron) Kay, and; grandchildren, Megan and Clayton Callahan, Shandi, Tony and Molly Theil, and Carly and Joshua Kay; her brother, David Bean; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; dear husband Al in 1988; and her siblings, Rosemarie, Forrest, Roy, Ruby and Jack.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4-6PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. She will be buried at East Springfield Cemetery in a private service.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the APL, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
The family would like to thank the staff of Saybrook Landing and Bella Care Hospice for their kindness and care given to Peggy during her time there.
