Johanna (Wright) Roosa, who many knew as Bonnie, passed away November 5, 2025. Bonnie was born on March 10, 1952 to her parents Albert E. Wright and Beverly "Betty" (Meyers) Daugherty in Conneaut, Ohio, where she resided all her life.
Bonnie will be remembered for her love of camping, and cherished the time spent at Holiday Camplands with her sister, Loretta and grandkids, Courtney and Gage, as well as her generosity of spirit.
Her career was defined by the service of others as a bus driver for Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities and as a caregiver for Ashtabula County Residential Services - Maples.
Bonnie leaves behind her husband Duane, her daughter and son-in-law Tonya (Perry) and Jason Green, and their children, Courtney Clark, Gage Luce, and Jay Green. She is also survived by her sister Loretta (Wright) Shaffer; stepson, David Roosa; and her sister-in-law Karen (Peters) Wright.
She is preceded in death by her son Perry Courtney, as well as her brother Albert "Bud" L. Wright Sr. and her brother-in-law Elmore "Moe" Shaffer.
Many kind souls supported Bonnie's comfort at the end of her life. She convalesced at home with her loving sister Loretta, who provided her with constant care for seven months leading up to Bonnie's passing, and with whom Bonnie lived for five years. Her dear friend Janet Sabo also cared for her. Her spirits were lifted by her sweet dog Miracle.
Burial services will be carried out through Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut.
No ceremonies will be held. Bonnie will be laid to rest next to her father in Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to the Ashtabula County Board of DD/Ashcraft Industries, 5959 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004 in Bonnie's honor.
