William Leo Dixon, 86, of Clyde passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, in an Abilene nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Clyde First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Lovell officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Leo was born January 12, 1939, in Tye, Texas to William Absolum and Eva Lee (Bigham) Dixon. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1956. He married Virginia Gary in Baird on June 17, 1961. Leo worked for Peoples State Bank and later First Financial for 37 years and was an avid golfer. He was a member and deacon at Clyde Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Dixon of Clyde; two sisters, Fannie Ruth Froman and husband Stanley of Clyde and his twin sister, Eva Cleo Young of Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Eva Lee; his sister, Nita Tarrant and two nephews, Rodney Young and Dennis Tarrant.
