Leo R. Strom, 82, of Gardner, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Leo, a lifelong resident of Gardner, was born on April 28, 1943, to the late Bruno and Alda (Brassard) Strom. He spent many years working as a truck driver for many years and later became the proud owner and operator of 'Leo's Steamed Dogs,' a beloved hot dog truck cherished by the community.
Leo was a former member of the West End Beagle Club, a Past President of the Gardner Fish and Gun Club, and the proud Founder of the Deep-Sea Club. He was also a devoted parishioner of Annunciation Parish at Holy Rosary Church. A true outdoorsman, Leo had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping, and he especially cherished time spent with his beloved family. He also held a lifelong love for motorcycles, with a special fondness for Harley-Davidsons.
Leo is survived by a daughter, Tracy Collard of Waynesville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Nishia Valencia of Gardner and Morgan Welch; one great-grandchild, Gabriel Welch; he is also survived by two nieces and a nephew, Doreen Lashua, Susan and William Bilodeau.
Besides for his parents, Leo was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda (Ashton) Strom, who passed away in 2014. Two sons, Michael Strom, and David Strom; grandson, Joshua Welch, and two sisters Janet Lajoie and Lorraine Gauvin.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Services to follow in the funeral home starting at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes's Research Hospital, to 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
