Leo Talent passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Leo and his twin brother Leon were born on July 16, 1951 to C.E. Talent and Lida Mae (Cook) in Dekalb, Texas. Growing up Leo and his family lived in Paris, Texas.
Leo met the love of his life Janet while they both worked at Kipp’s Big Boy. They were married February 7, 1969. They were married for 56 years, 8 months and 17 days before she passed away. They have now been reunited in heaven.
Leo was in the construction business for the last 50 years. There are not many hi-rise buildings in the Dallas-Ft Worth area that he did not work on. Leo was an avid hunter and fisherman. To Leo, his friends were his family attending the annual Dickerson Reunion at Lake Texhoma or driving around on the weekends to see friends and talk or help them with whatever they may need. Leo thought life could not get any better when his grandchildren came along but that changed when his great grandchildren came.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life Janet, his parents C.E. and Lida Mae Talent, brother Charles Talent, sisters Doris Nutt and Gladys Cox.
He is survived by son, Charles (Jean) Talent; daughter Tammy Walls, grandchildren Justin Walls, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Renfroe, Truitt Talent, and Lewis Talent; great grandchildren Scarlett Renfroe, Layton Walls, Cooper Walls, Magnolia Renfroe; brothers Leon and Ed Talent; sister LaJoy Kingston (Jim); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Leo is also survived by many friends that are considered family.
