Leon Paul Balius, Jr., 79, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in Biloxi.
Leon was born on November 28, 1946 in Biloxi, MS to Leon P. Balius, Sr. and Eulalie Balius. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and was president of the Fleur de Lis Society for many years. Leon was employed in floor covering and as a planner at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He enjoyed shrimping and fishing.
Leon was a man of intelligence, talent, quiet strength, kind and mild mannered and he had a way of making people feel at ease. If you had the opportunity to know him, you liked him immediately. His sincerity and genuine spirit touched everyone he met.
He loved his family intensely and was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever he could. Even through the pain and challenges of his latter years he never complained. His courage, grace and faith are a testament to the goodness of his heart.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends, who take great comfort in knowing he is in peace and in the arms of our Lord. His memory will remain a guiding light and source of comfort to all who were blessed to share in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Tracie Balius Tate.
Leon’s survivors include his wife, Charlotte Roberts Balius; his children, Candace Balius, Toni Balius and Chela Roberts; and his siblings, Susan Balius Sekul and Chester Balius.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to Blessed Seelos Catholic Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Leon’s many friends from the Fleur de Lis Society and the V.F.W.
