Leon Edward Crutcher was born August 6, 1967, to Gay Sandra Lowe Crutcher and Willie Lee Crutcher in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He transitioned peacefully on May 20, 2024, at the age of 56. He accepted Christ and had a spiritual connection and loving bond with God.

Leon attended public school in Hamilton County at Brainerd High School, where he played percussion in the band and earned his high school degree. He worked at Little Debbie for many years before accepting a driver position at First Fleet Inc. where he worked for 25 years.

On August 29, 2003, he was joined in holy matrimony to Antoinette “Net” Hyde-Crutcher and this union joined a blended family with four sons; his son, Keane Jay Crutcher; his stepson, Terrell Hubbard; her sons; Dominique Hyde and Donovan Hyde.

Leon was a wonderful father and treasured the bonding times he would spend with his son Jay. They always made time to do activities together like going out to eat, going to see a football or basketball game, watch TV or just sit on the sofa having a man-to-man conversation. They enjoyed their time together and did not take their special moments for granted. He helped chaperone the Hunters Lane High School band along with traveling for special events. He loved laughing with family and friends during holidays every year and mastered mixing a variety of great ingredients. He made sure he had enough tea for everybody; he would brew gallons of tea at one time just to make sure there was a cold glass of tea waiting for anyone visiting their home. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Crutcher; grandmother Lurine Lowe; two uncles, James Crutcher and Melvin Lowe.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Antoinette Hyde-Crutcher; son, Keane Jay Crutcher; stepsons, Terrell Hubbard, Dominique Hyde and Donovan Hyde; mother, Gay Sandra Crutcher; brother, Samuel Jay Crutcher; sister, Ammettrice Crutcher; nephew, Haven Glass; nieces, Hayveann Glass, G’yonnie Harris; uncles, aunts as well as a host of loving cousins and friends
