Leon Hogsed

Leon Hogsed – 78 of Brevard NC (formerly of the Silversteen Community), passed away on Friday January 19th, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He went on to be with his Lord and Savior and his loving family who proceeded him in death.
Leon was born on July 22nd 1945, to Artellus and Effie Hogsed of Silversteen Community in Lake Toxaway, NC and was a native of Transylvania County.
He was proceeded in death both of his parents, his Loving Wife Mary (Murphy) Hogsed, and his two daughters, Melinda Ann Hogsed and Jodie Hogsed Muniz, and sister, Louise Queen.
He was employed by MB Industries in Rosman for many years and loved all of his work family.
Leon is survived by his two sons, Jackie Hogsed of Brevard and Lonnie Mac Hogsed of Lake Toxaway; five grandchildren, Erin Hogsed, Mario Muniz, LeAnn Hogsed, Patrick Hogsed, and Hayley Hogsed ; two great grandchildren, Kendyn Hogsed and Syciron Sanders; (He was the greatest man I've ever known – Until we meet again, Erin); three sisters, Eva Mae Kimsey of Brevard, Dorothy Owen (Herbert) of Balsam Grove, and Tina Phillips (Rickey) of Rosman, four brothers, Roland Hogsed (Vesta) of Lake Toxaway, Jimmy Hogsed (Kathy) of Brevard, Tillman Hogsed (Glenda) of Rosman and Steve Hogsed (Waynetta) of Brevard NC.
Leon loved his family and helping anyone he could along the way, he also loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mac McCall Cemetery in the Silversteen Community, Lake Toxaway NC.
