In Loving Memory Of
Winifred Leon Huffmaster
1953-2025
Leon Huffmaster, 71, a beloved father, grandfather "Papaw" and friend passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 4th, 2025, after a lengthy battle with multiple different cancers along with a brief illness. Born on June19th, 1953 in Springdale, Arkansas, his life stood for hard work, resilience, craftmanship, family oriented and always had exceptional stories to tell.
He loved everything outdoors between BBQing, fishing, along with just sitting outside talking and hanging out with family and friends. One thing he for sure would never miss was hunting season with his son and anyone else he could get to join. Even if that just meant sitting in the truck in a field with their rifles. He was always ready to sit and play cards or a board game with all his grandkids and he really enjoyed joking and messing with them all as well.
Leon took a lot of pride being a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bethany Missouri, forming decades long brotherhoods/friendships within the Eagles. He truly enjoyed helping anyone he possibly could in all different areas of life and was always the first to instantly lend a helping hand. Always trying his best to uphold his brotherhood along with all their goals to make human life more desirable by lessening the ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope in daily life.
Known by everyone for his blue jean overalls with his love for PBR as well as his colorful language to always speaking what's on his mind, his yearly planning trying to get his sons and grandchildren and the rest of his Kansas City family to Bethany at the same time, so all his family could be together every year for The Bethany Fair with a jam packed weekend of nonstop fun. Leon absolutely loved all the memories being made year after year while watching his kids grow up to become parents making him an amazing grandfather. Bethany has always been a special place and home to Leon for at least the last 30 years. Our yearly trips Leon planned for The Bethany Fair will always be some of our favorite memories and times we got to spend with him.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie & Omega Huffmaster; brother, Dean Huffmaster; son, Daryl Huffmaster; and grandson, Jace "Scooter" Humphrey.
He is Survived in death by his sons, Bryce (Tiffany) Huffmaster, Lonnie Huffmaster; stepson, Jason "Jakey' (Jaclyn) Mitchell; stepdaughter, Jennifer Shirley (Mitchell); grandkids, Samatha, Rachael, Kyle & Gabby Huffmaster, Zoey & Dax King, Andre Johnson; sisters, Joretta (Ralph) Long, Rhonda Deford; and brothers, Richard Huffmaster and David Huffmaster.
