Noel Alegra Huffmaster, age 90, of Tebbetts, Mo., passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at The Arbors of Westbrook Terrace.
She was born on October 22, 1934, in Withee, Wisconsin. Noel was the daughter of Wallace "Wally" Charles and Pearl Royal (Province) Snyder. She married her high school sweetheart, William "Bill" M. Huffmaster on August 2, 1952, in Tebbetts, sharing a loving 72 years of marriage together before Bill's passing on August 29, 2024.
Noel was a woman whose love for her family and dedication to those she cared about knew no bounds. With a heart full of devotion, she put the needs of her loved ones first, always ensuring her family felt supported, loved, and cared for. Whether it was raising four children with her husband, Bill, or later welcoming a 10-month-old grandson into their home, Noel's love and commitment to motherhood never wavered.
Noel and Bill were partners in every sense of the word, making decisions together and creating a life built on love, hard work, and teamwork. Throughout their journey, they faced challenges with resilience. Noel worked outside the home while raising their children, making sure each one had their responsibilities, and instilling important life skills-though her kids may have grumbled about it at the time, they knew it was for their own good.
A true advocate for her children, Noel was always present-whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, volunteering at the local library, or participating in the PTO. She gave her time selflessly, always ensuring her children had everything they needed and more.
Noel's nurturing spirit extended to her home and community. She took great pride in her yard, tending to her beautiful flower gardens with such care that passersby often mistook it for a park. Her hands were rarely still-knitting, writing poetry, and playing bridge with her friends brought her joy and fulfillment. The love she shared with Bill was evident in everything they did, and their life together was a reflection of the partnership and mutual support they had always shared.
She was an active member of the Tebbetts United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she contributed her time and energy. Throughout all the years, Noel was most content sitting in her yard, watching the hummingbirds that visited each year, a simple yet perfect reminder of the beauty and peace she cultivated in her life.
The legacy that Noel left is one of selflessness, love, and devotion to her family and community. She lived a life rich in compassion and care, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Noel is survived by their children, S. Dennis Huffmaster of Frisco, Tx., Sherry Johnson (David) of Suwanee, Ga., Stuart Huffmaster of Fulshear, Tx., and Scotty Huffmaster (Chris) of Tebbetts, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Scott Huffmaster (Elizabeth), Emily Johnson, Amanda Saunders, Caitlin Johnson, Stephanie Huffmaster, Lauren Huffmaster, and Nicole Huffmaster; two great-grandchildren, Elise Huffmaster, and Adelyn Huffmaster; one sister, Beatrice "Bea" McNair of Wentzville, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Cathy Snyder and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; siblings, Barbara Snyder, Daphine Hartshorn (Hank) and David Snyder; and one brother-in-law, William "Bill" McNair.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Freeman Mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, with the Reverend Kay Hord officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Tebbetts, Mo.

I have been a neighbor of Noel for about the last 20 years. She and Bill were excellent neighbors. I first met Noel when her parents were operating a mink farm in the Tebbetts area in the 1950s. Noel never met a stranger, as she would walk up to a "stranger" and just introduce herself in a very unique way!
