In Loving Memory of Leon McClung
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Leon McClung, who left this world on March 1, 2026, he fought a courageous battle after a short illness. Born on June 12, 1953, in the vibrant city of
Las Vegas, Nevada, Leon's life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience.
Leon was the cherished son of Leon and Loma McClung, and he honored their legacy throughout his life, embodying the values of hard work and integrity they instilled in him. He was also predeceased by his beloved parents, Shirley and Larry Singley. Leon's legacy continues through his devoted partner, Donna, with whom he celebrated eighteen beautiful years of sunrises and sunsets, filled with shared dreams and unwavering support.
Together, Leon and Donna created a life rich in love and joy that extended to their six remarkable children: Lana (Maria), Blake (Abby), Skyler, Alexia, David, and Michael (Sarah). Leon took immense pride in his role as a father, guiding his children with wisdom and warmth. His love knew no bounds, reaching his three beautiful granddaughters, Angel, Marissa, and Katherine, and his two precious great-granddaughters, Madison and Ezaray Skye.
Family was at the heart of Leon's existence, and he was a beloved brother to Bunny Roney and a cherished uncle to Roark Roney and Loma Rozich. His extended family, including Patti McClung, Don and Linda Morris, Wanda Zambrana, and Carlos Requena, held a special place in his heart, bringing color and laughter to his journey.
Leon's academic accomplishments were a source of pride, graduating from Irvington High School in 1971 and earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from California State University. His career was distinguished and dedicated; he began at General Electric Corporation, later making significant contributions in the nuclear field as a Senior Health Physics Tech, Radiological Engineer, emergency planner developer, and Health Physics Consultant. His commitment to the industry spanned nearly five decades, marked by loyalty and expertise.
While Leon's departure leaves an irreplaceable void, his spirit and lessons endure in the hearts of those he touched. In honor of his life and his enduring battle with illness, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the
American Heart Association, supporting research and efforts to combat heart disease.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of Ohio Health Compassus Hospice and Kobacker Hospice House. Your exceptional care and kindness provided Leon and our family with comfort and dignity, gifts we will cherish forever.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Leons life, allowing his family and closest friends to celebrate the extraordinary man he was.
As we bid farewell to Leon, we remember a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His legacy of love, courage, and steadfast devotion will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish every moment and love deeply, just as he did.
