Leon Riddle

Leon Riddle, 85, of Lake Toxaway and a Native of Transylvania County passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at Cedar Mountain House Assisted Living.

Leon was born in Lake Toxaway NC on December 4, 1939, to Arthur and Dollie Mae Riddle, the oldest of seven children and was predeceased by his brothers, Sidney, Larry, Glenn and sister Louella.

Leon is survived by his son Maverick Riddle (Amy Shelton) and grandchildren, Shay Riddle, Dale Riddle, Benjamin Riddle and Gillian Riddle; his great grandchildren, Alex Castillo, Anthony Garcia, Isabella Garcia and Aaiden Resendiz; his sisters, Ruth Miller and Barbara Fisher.

Leon was blessed with a large family, Dorothy Riddle, his stepchildren and their families, Frances Leopard, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Leon lived most of his life in the Lake Toxaway and Cashiers area, He loved to hunt and fish with family and friends and told many stories of their outings and the good times they had. Leon was also a very good mechanic and happy to help out anyone with car repairs when in need. Most of all Leon loved Bluegrass music, he was often playing his guitar or banjo, he loved to gather with family and friends and play the music. "Go Rest High on that Mountain" you will be missed, and we all love you!

A special "Thank You" to Bernice Riddle for all the love and care that she gave Leon during his most difficult times. The family would also like to recognize the staff at the Cedar Mountain House for the compassionate care that Leon received during his time there.

A graveside service will be held at the Mack McCall Cemetery, 300 Kitchen Loop, Lake Toxaway NC 28747 on Sunday July 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm. Following the service there will be a celebration of life meal at the Lake Toxaway Community Center. The family would like to extend an invitation to all the family and friends.
