Leona Lesley Bowen

Leona Lesley Bowen, a radiant soul born on December 23, 1946, in Hennessey, Oklahoma, left this world on December 22, 2024, just a day shy of her 78th birthday. She departed in Enid, Oklahoma, enveloped in the warmth of cherished memories, reflected in her luminous love for family and passion for life.

As an esteemed equipment operator at a local factory producing movie props, Leona skillfully blended creativity with industry, always striving to bring magical moments to life. Her dedication mirrored the values she instilled in her family, celebrating the extraordinary beauty in an ordinary day. Graduating from Hennessey High School and holding an Associate's degree in Accounting, Leona embodied a spirit of ambition, fueled by an unyielding love for her kin.

Leona's essence radiated in the joys of family gatherings and the festive spirit of the Christmas holidays. An aficionado of Christmas ornaments and a passionate collector of Santa Claus memorabilia, she turned each December into a vibrant celebration of love, laughter, and togetherness. The memories of holiday gatherings, filled with joy and laughter, will linger in the hearts of those she leaves behind, forever wrapped in a blanket of nostalgia.

As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she took immense pride in her role within the family. Her legacy lives on through her children—Alena Hillbolt and her partner Ron Witcher of Edmond, Lesley Bowen of Enid, Guy Bowen of Oklahoma City, and Tina Evans of Garber. Equally cherished are her grandchildren: Jackie Renshaw, Ashley (husband Bobby), Michael Beamon, Andrew Beamon, Megan Boyd, Robert Weaver (wife Ashley), Ryan Burpo, Eric Burpo, Niomi Evans, and Nyla Evans. Eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren complete this tapestry of love and joy that she so passionately woven throughout her life.

Leona was further complemented by the joys of sibling companionship with her sisters, Anita Kersey (husband James) and Connie Bowman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply. On her passing, she is warmly acknowledged in memory by her beloved dog, Ducky, a loyal companion through the intricacies of life.

Though the world has lost a brilliant star, it is through the love of her family that Leona’s spirit will continue to shine evermore. She reunites with her husband Louis Webb, grandson Butch Hillbolt, sister Peggy Stuck, and brother Jack Beebe in eternal peace.

A viewing will be held at Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma, on December 24, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM, allowing family a moment to reflect upon the life and memories of a woman who poured her heart into everything she touched. A graveside service will follow on December 31, 2024, at Cimarron Valley Cemetery in Ames, Oklahoma, beginning at 10 AM, where she will finally rest amid the gentle embrace of the earth she loved so dearly.

Her laughter, kindness, and unfaltering devotion will echo through the lives she touched, forever a cherished chapter in the legacy of her family.
