Leonard Bernard Allen Sr.

Leonard Bernard Allen, Sr. (74) of Jacksonville, Florida was born on January 15, 1951 to Nathaniel Allen and Colista Johnson Allen in Gainesville, Florida. He was the third child of nine children. Leonard accepted Christ at an early age being from a God centered home.
Bernie was educated in the public school system and graduate from Lincoln High School. After graduation, he immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force. After five years of service, Leonard returned to Gainesville and continued his education at the University of Florida.
Leonard was employed with Shands Teaching Hospital for forty years where he retired. After years of dedicated service, he started his own accounting consulting firm. He later returned to Shands as a part time contract employee. Although a quiet and gentle man, in Leonard's free time, he enjoyed family, friends, coaching and sports.
On the morning of Friday, October 31, 2025, Leonard was summoned from his earthly house of pain and suffering to his mansion on the eternal streets of glory. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Allen and Colista Allen; two brothers, Gregory Allen and Carlton Allen (Martha).
Leonard leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife of nine years, Dornica Allen; three children, Leonard Allen Jr., Nathan Allen and Chad Allen; four bonus children, Kia Turner (Markes), Dejanae Hartley, Jamarion Turner and Tanga Washington; eight grandchildren, Na'zarri Allen, Nathan Allen, Jr., Nason Allen, Lenniya Allen, Zatalya Gunn, Ka'lea Allen, Marcus Turner and Jesiah Jackson; four brothers, Anthony Allen (Susan), Donald Allen, Charles Allen (Jeannie) and Michael Allen, Sr. (Shelia); two sisters, Beverly Allen and Lawanna "Peaches" Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
