Leonard "Skip" Fleming Bond

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Skip Bond, who departed this world on April 10th, 2025, in Joplin, MO with his loving wife Kathryn Wiebe Bond at his side. The beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend to so many, was 84 years old, and born in Newburg, MO. He is preceded by his parents Mary Jane (Bond) Gordy and Harris Alexander Bond, and late wife Karen Long Bond.

Upon graduation from Plattsburg Missouri High School, he joined the Marine Corps. Later in his career, he was head of what was then known as United Association Local 658. Skip was proud of his longstanding membership in the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners. An avid bird hunter and Legend, he was renowned for his skill, but also for his mentorship to so many.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn, two sons Brian and Jason, two granddaughters Gracie and Clementine, as well as many step and chosen family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He leaves behind a wealth of friends, the admiration of so many, and the love and gratitude of his family and chosen family.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, May 1, 2024 at the Warren's Branch Baptist Church in Seneca, MO with Windell Brown officiating.


The body has been taken for cremation under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
