He's gone, the love of my life! Leonard Melvin Dugan, Jr. he graced this earth from
November 24, 1948, until July 21,2024. The last several months of his life were a
battle we could not win, no matter how hard we tried.
When our first grandson was about a month old, Len had a quintuple bypass. We
were told it could extend his life for another 10-15 years. That grandson is now 29. At
the time of his passing, we had 7 grandchildren and as of March 13 th, Alice granted him
the status of Great Papa.
Len's family consists of his wife Sharlene, together for 45 years. His daughters
Heather Rauch, her husband Chris and their three children Silas, Ezekiel and Keilah;
and Holly Dugan Garden, her husband Robert and their four children Jeffrey (1 st
grandchild), Bryan, Matilyn and her daughter Alice, and Samantha.
Len was a believer of family. He loved each and every one of us! He wasn't a social
guy. But he never faltered in his love of family.
He was a repair king. Very few things brought to him to "fix" ever made it to the trash.
He fixed appliances, toys and games. Made equipment box for our guitarist.
Rebuilt/remodeled granddaughters bedroom furniture. Helped his daughter rebuild her
husband's car! He didn't say no to anyone. He did his best to make it better.
He also built a great deal of his dream home, our forever hobby.
His birth family consisted of his father, Leonard M Dugan, Sr. passed in April 1986, his
mother, Mae E Dugan passed in February 2022. His sister Jo Dugan-Smith and his
younger brother Patrick who passed in 2007.
He is missed, will be missed for years to come! I know eventually, we will all move
through the day without this heavy weight of loss we are carrying now. For now, I
accept it and grieve. He was my life, my love. I will forever feel his loss.
