Leonard Hancock Obituary
Steve Hancock, 82, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at the St. Ann Catholic Church, Miller, Deacon Roger Puthoff, officiant. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller.
Leonard "Steve" was born to Ivan and Hazel (Palmer) Hancock on March 31, 1942, in Miller, South Dakota. Steve had many trades throughout his life, including working at Wilson Ready Mix, Armours, and as a lift driver for Sathers.
He loved many things, but a few hobbies were wine making, meat smoking, fishing, hunting, and bird watching. Steve's favorite pastime was when he was able to watch his son, Rick, drag race, which started when Rick was fourteen years old.
Steve will be missed by his wife, Linda; children: Richard (Patti), and Jailey "Sandi" (Randy) Thompson; grandchildren: Erica, Tosha, Ashley, David, Kayla, Hilary, MaKenna, and Rikki; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Darwin and Bradley.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Leonard's arrangements.
