Len Kedrowski

Age 83 of White Bear Lake

On July 13, 2025, Len Kedrowski passed away peacefully after a long illness. In his final months and days, he was surrounded by his wife, family, and friends. We are so grateful to the many people who supported Len this year with visits, calls, cards, and gifts.

Len was born to Michael Kedrowski and Alma Kedrowski (Hary) in St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 28, 1941. As a youth, Len attended St. Adalbert elementary school and Cretin High School. He graduated from the College of St. Thomas with a bachelor's degree in accounting and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Len married Jean Marie Kedrowski (Weber) on August 6, 1966.

Len's financial acumen led to rapid professional advancement, and throughout his career he held several prominent leadership roles for local businesses and charities. His notable positions included Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Treasurer of Andersen Windows, Owner and President of Executive and Management Consulting, Inc., Chief Executive Officer of Blue Earth Internet, Chairman of the Board of First American Funds, Board Member of Protection Mutual Insurance Co., Board Member of Smyth Co., Board Member of the First State Bank of Bayport, Chairman of the Board of Lakeview Hospital, and Investment Advisory Board Member for the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.

Outside of work, Len was an active sportsman, and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, golf, and tennis. He loved being on the water, and his favorite summer vacations were fishing trips to northern Minnesota and Canada. During his lifetime, he built two beautiful houses on local lakes – Lake Olson (in 1978) and White Bear Lake (in 1992). He was fond of tooling around these lakes, often pulling children and grandchildren on waterskis and rafts. Len was a long-time member of the White Bear Yacht Club (WBYC) in Minnesota and the Citrus Club in La Quinta, California, where he played golf and tennis. Stand-out experiences at the WBYC included his hole-in-one on Hole 3, winning the Derby tournament, serving as commodore, and many family celebrations and holidays, including his 50th birthday party. Len loved parties and dancing – whether at weddings, father/daughter dances, or charity balls – and was delighted to be christened “Happy Feet” by his in-laws.

Len spent much time with family and friends around game tables. He was an enthusiastic and intuitive card player and especially loved poker, bridge, gin rummy, and cribbage. He loved crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles; he frequently had a 5000-piece jigsaw puzzle going in his basement.

But what most stands out about Len are those qualities that endeared him to so many people - his generosity, his sense of humor and fondness for joke telling, his fierce intellect, his love for his family and friends, his pursuit of justice mixed with common sense, his ready conversation and wit, his self-confidence and pride in his accomplishments, and overall goodness.

Len is survived by his wife, Jean; his three children, Cheryl (Victor), David, and Mark; and his eight grandchildren, Zoe (Joshua), Sophie, Rafael, Leona, Kai, Kento, Beckett, and Natasha.

We are holding a Celebration of Life for Len at the White Bear Yacht Club on Sunday, August 10, at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial is preferred to The Pillars Hospice Home.
