Leonard C. “Lenny” Bruheim, age 77, passed away on Sunday May 18, 2025, at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born April 25, 1948, in Stoughton to the late Leonard and Georgianna (Dahmen) Bruheim. Lenny proudly served his Country in the United States Army for 2 tours during the Vietnam War. He married Dayle Swetmore on October 23, 1971, in Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison.
Lenny worked at Madison Kipp Corporation for 37 years and retired as a maintenance mechanic where he met many life-long friends with whom he regularly still visited at the monthly Kipp “Old-timers Breakfast.”
Throughout his life, Lenny had many hobbies that he enjoyed sharing with friends and family including: going to car swap meets in Jefferson, Beloit and Iola and the Jefferson flea market, racing at the Great Lakes Dragaway, ice fishing on Mendota, Fish and Crystal lakes, collecting just about EVERYTHING, and his biggest passion, shooting antique rifles.
Lenny also took time to enjoy the little things. Watching Jeopardy every evening with Dayle, watching and feeding birds in his backyard, tending to his garden, and listening to classic country and rock music.
Lenny was a very talented tinkerer, fixing anything and everything with his mechanical skills and helping anyone who needed it. He was a life-long learner who embraced gaining expertise at the latest challenge or to embrace his latest hobby or collection.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 53 years Dayle; son Lucas (Valerie) Bruheim; siblings Phillis (Larry) Paulus, Bill (Nancy) Bruheim, Patti (Tim) Schultz, and Karen Bruheim; and he is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
