Leonard Albert Mallozzi was born on April 5, 1955 in Utica, NY to Albert and Beverly (Cook) Mallozzi, who predeceased him. Len grew up in Utica, New York, hanging out and working at his father’s garage with siblings and close friends. It was an adventure and a privilege for him.

After graduation from high school, Len joined the U.S. Army, where he served from 1974 to 1979. He was proud of his country and his service, and he made lifetime friends while he served. He was able to visit one of those friends, who lives in California, within the past couple of years. They had not seen each other in 40 years. It was a trip he cherished and talked about frequently. He was also blessed to have a visit for a few days from his good friend Jim Tucciarone, when they shared pizza, pasta, laughter and good music.

Len loved his family deeply. He experienced several personal losses in the past few years and often remarked at how he had been affected by those passings. He talked fondly of his daughter and his siblings and how much he had learned from his father, Al.

Len was an amazingly talented songwriter, being first and foremost, a Beatles fan. He could write a song on his keyboard in minutes but couldn’t read music. He has a repertoire of his own music on tapes, many of the songs on which he corroborated with some of his dear friends.

He lived in Bath for nearly 2 decades and was a well-loved friend to those in his apartment complex, often seen with his cup of coffee in hand, sitting on the porch or at the picnic table. He loved chatting with his neighbors, working in his flower garden and feeding the unwanted neighborhood cats. And his own cats were his kids, whom he loved with all his heart.

The world will surely miss his smile, his laughter and his endless stories. But Heaven has gained a loving soul.

Len is survived by his daughter, Alicia Baker-Muncaster, brother, Dave Mallozzi, his grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, with a special niece Delaney who he shared many hilarious texts with, many friends, and his beloved cats, Mia, Jenny and Miri. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jerry and Mark and sister, Patricia Mallozzi.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Bath, New York on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM followed by the burial with military honors in the Bath National Cemetery at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron St., Bath, NY 14810.

Lenny’s family entrusted his care to Fagan’s Funeral Home of Bath.
