Born August 5, 1952, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Leonard was the son of the late Leonard McConaha Sr. and Meridy Leigh Smith McConaha. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Chad Blanton.
Leonard proudly served as a member of the Army National Guard. A printer by trade, he worked for many years with Service Office Supply. He was a man of faith who enjoyed attending Freedom Worship Church of God in Greenup.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dianne Horn McConaha; two sons, Toma McConaha (Kelly) of Delaware, Ohio, and Jesse McConaha (Rachael Howard) of Raceland; two daughters, Danielle Blanton of Greenup and Jessica Everett (Josh) of Hilliard, Ohio; two brothers, Chuck McConaha of Alabama and Kevin McConaha of Tennessee; and two sisters, Shirley Cordial of Hilliard, Ohio, and Sharon Thompson of Columbus, Ohio.
He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren-Jordan, Brandon, Ryan, Shannon McConaha, Tiffany Potter, Zachary Blanton, Destiny Cornette, Kylee Everett, and Leo McConaha-and his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Abel, Lincoln, Serenity, Reagan McConaha , Kylee Potter, Kinlee Potter, Kindall Potter, Raelynn Blanton, and Chadlee Blanton.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Music Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Witt officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday. Military honors will be presented by the Ceredo/Kenova American Legion Post #93.
Online condolences may be shared at mfhfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Music Family Funeral Home, Greenup.
