Angie Garrett McConaha, 57, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at NMMC-Tupelo. Angie was born in Aberdeen on August 31, 1966 to Jerry and Sharon Burgess Garrett. She was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1984. In her younger years, she worked several clerical positions before attending Vaughn's Beauty College. Upon graduating as a top student from beauty college, Angie owned and operated, What A Cut Salon in Aberdeen. She enjoyed spending time with her customers at the salon. On December 31, 2019, Angie married Doug McConaha. Angie loved being in the outdoors raising flowers and gardening, boating and camping. She found great peace and serenity walking along the beach and loved to collect sea shells. More than anything, Angie loved being mom to her daughter, Chelsie. She also adored her grandchildren, Dani and Delta and loved every moment she spent with them. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Angie is survived by her husband, Doug McConaha; mother, Sharon Garrett, Aberdeen; daughter, Chelsie Elizabeth Davis (Hayden), Columbus; step-daughter, Amanda McConaha; sister, Sheri Herring (Loyd), Aberdeen; grandchildren, Dani and Delta Davis.
Angie is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Garrett; grandparents, Joseph and Leanna Burgess, Burton and Nova Garrett.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Bell, Bro. Todd Bowen and Bro. Brad LeBreyere officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Blaylock, Randy Perkins, Coye Holloway, Tim Holloway, Sonny Clay and Spencer Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Wilemon, Mike Yielding, Mike Bowen and Terry Robertson.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 AM until 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Angie's granddaughter, Delta Davis.
