Barbara Anne McConaha, 80, of Carmel, Indiana passed away peacefully January 9, 2024 with family present. She was born April 2, 1943 to Andrew and Katherine (Stariha) Guzyk in Cambridge, Pennsylvania. Barbara attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a degree in accounting.
Shortly after completing college, Barbara met Richard, they married soon after, and celebrated 55 years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters, Heather, and Erin.
Barbara and Richard enjoyed traveling the country as well as abroad. In retirement, they enjoyed multi-week car trips across the United States visiting many different National Parks and historic locations. Barbara always enjoyed a good meal, including a glass of wine, or two – with her family. She especially enjoyed those moments during the holidays. Barbara loved to spoil her grandchildren as well as her grand dogs giving them the best treats and meats. As an avid reader, Barbara was rarely seen without a book in hand. She enjoyed spending time putting together jigsaw puzzles and completing the daily crosswords in the newspaper.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved grand dog, Willy.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Richard; daughters, Heather (John) McConaha and Erin (Jake) McGrew; 2 grandchildren; grand dog, Roswell; and brother, Joe (Karen) Guzyk.
There are no services scheduled at this time.

There are so many childhood memories I have of my sister. She was my protector at times, my friend and playmate also. Karen and I send our love and deepest condolences to Barbara´s family.
