Leonard Lee Moore, 95, was born on August 17, 1930, in Taft, California to Jesse and Julia Moore, and peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025. In the 1930's, Leonard, his parents and four brothers and a sister, being from Oklahoma, traveled back and forth several times to California during the depression years. In 1945, the family settled in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma where he attended Fort Gibson schools and spent the rest of his life. In 1951, he married Joan Delcour from Fort Gibson while he was in the United States Air Force where he served in the Strategic Air Command.

After discharge, Leonard and Joan had two sons, Gary and Larry and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone where he retired from in the 1980's. Leonard was a life-long member of the Fort Gibson Church of Christ. For most of his life he enjoyed living in the country take care of his livestock and raising his boys. He and Joan were married for 58 years. Leonard was the most peaceful, quiet, and content man you would every meet.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, his son Gary, his parents, four brothers and his sister. He is survived by his son, Larry Moore and wife, Michelle Moore, grandchildren Joshua Moore and his wife Sarah, Sarah Thomas and husband Jon Thomas, Jonathan Moore and wife Theresa, Grant Moore and wife Corinne, Audra Moore, nine great grandchildren, Avery Moore, Hudson Moore, Riley Thomas, Ruthie Thomas, Ruby Thomas, Maddie Moore, Charley Moore, and Joey Moore, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Leonard's life will be held at 10:00 a.m Thursday, August 21 at the Fort Gibson Church of Christ. with Larry Moore and Justin Hatfield leading his going home service.

Committal interment will follow in the Fort Gibson Citizen's Cemetery under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home with Joshua Moore, Jonathan Moore, Jon Thomas, Jimmy Huggins, Mitchell Moore, and Larry Moore serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Paul Rainbolt, Lyle Tolbert, and Gerald Walkingstick.
