Leonard William "Buddy" Owens III

Owens- Leonard "Buddy" William Owens, III, age 50, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on September 25, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on September 26, 1974, in Jacksonville, Florida. Though his time on earth was brief, Buddy left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit, Buddy was a true friend to many. His warm smile and willingness to help others made him a cherished presence in the lives of family, friends, and neighbors alike. Buddy had a deep love for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing brought him great joy and peace, allowing him to connect with nature in meaningful ways. He also found fulfillment working with his hands, especially when repairing cars. Whether it was tuning an engine or casting a line into still waters, Buddy approached life with passion and sincerity. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort and strength to those who carry it forward. Buddy is preceded in death by his father, Leonard William Owens, II.

Buddy leaves behind his loving mother, Debra Owens; children, Leonard "Will" (Erin) Owens, IV, Jessie Owens (Brooke Holiday), Jennifer (Justin) Dunn, Steven Glen Giordano, Benjamin Parker Giordano; brother, Alen Owens; sisters, Celena Owens, Mary (Barry) Gordon; grandchildren, Jesse Owens, Riley Owens, Gemma Owens; fiancé, Dawn Suber; stepson, Zachary Suber; and several nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Buddy's Life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
