Leonard F. Werner of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, with his family by his side. He was 75.
Born in Peckville, PA, Mr. Werner joined the Air Force after graduating from High School and served as a Security Police Defender in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he worked for many years as a factory worker at Yates Industries in Bordentown and Security Guard at Janssen Pharmaceuticals in Hopewell. He was a longtime Hamilton resident and enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino. He was a Past Commander and Past Chaplain of VFW Post #3525 in Hamilton and a member of Vietnam Veterans United.
Predeceased by his father, Leonard Werner Sr. and mother, Anna of Scranton, Pa, he is survived by two children, Suzanne Werner and her fiancé Al of Hamilton and son Leonard F. Werner III and his wife Rikki of Lumberton; and 3 cherished grandchildren: Luis Martinez, Haley and Delaney Werner.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 5-8pm and Monday morning from 8:30 - 9:30am at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. A brief service will be held on Sunday evening at 8pm at the Funeral Home. Internment with military honors will be on Monday morning following the visitation at BG William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at 10:30 am.
His love for his military service and the members of our armed forces was great. To support the Airmen who continue to serve, in lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the 514 AMW Chiefs Group, 2217 W. Arnold Ave, JBMDL, NJ 08641.
