Leonard C. Wisniewski died peacefully on July 8, 2025 in the presence of his family. Leonard was born April 12, 1926, the son of the late Peter and Cecilia (Rymarczk). He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Emily (Puczkowski). After graduating from Benedictine High School in Cleveland, Leonard served in World War II as a Private First Class stationed at Pearl Harbor. Upon his return, he and Emily were married in 1948. Together they raised four children: Dennis (Cathy), Michael (Anne), Maryann (Raymond), and Terese Marie (Edwin). Cherished grandfather to Denise (David), Kimberly (Brian), Katherine (John), Mary Emily (Alex), Alison (Cody), Christopher (Kristine), Joshua, Jennifer and Bryan (Kimberly) and great grandfather to Grace, Elizabeth, Olivia, Frances, John, Weston, Benjamin, Bradley, Tristan, Camryn, Addie, and Brendan. Leonard was preceded in death by his siblings: Stanley (Dorothy), Henry (Sophie), Raymond (Catalina), Edward, Loretta (Joseph), Celine (Bernard) and Richard ( surviving Janet). Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
Leonard worked for thirty years for the United States Steel Corporation in business management. He was a pioneer in the area of data processing. After retiring, he and Emily enjoyed operating a stationary and office supply shop in Bellevue, PA.
Leonard was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed socializing with all of his family and friends. Leonard will be missed for his entertaining personality, the telling of a joke and the sharing his various areas of expertise. Leonard loved a shiny car, a manicured lawn, a well-grilled steak, a mystery novel, a pinochle tournament and his game-show knowledge. Leonard enjoyed stewardship as a charter parishioner at St. John Neuman in Wexford, PA. He was immensely spiritual and dedicated to his faith. He was an exemplary husband, totally devoted to Emily, especially at her time of illness. Leonard was a proud first generation Polish-American and extended that culture to his family. Sto lat.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 9-10:20 am at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately by the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, Monarch Hospice.
