Leonel Heriberto Silva, 66, of Smyrna Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on November 8th 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Guatemala City on February 18th, 1959 where he lived during his early childhood years. He moved to the United States on November 25, 1978 where he lived initially in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before moving to Georgia in August of 2023. Even though he left his native country as a young man, he always loved and cherished his beautiful Guatemala. He worked for A&P grocery stores for over 30 years and was known as a hard dedicated worker.
Leonel had an infectious smile and made friends with everyone he met. He was described as a quiet and gentle individual and full of love. His laugh and quirky jokes brought laughter to all of those who knew him. As weak and sick as he was at the very end, he continued to show his strength and inner joy by showing the family his dance moves, leaving them memories which will last forever.
He endured chronic health issues and painful battles, but never once did he complain or questioned those who cared for him. All of his treatments, surgeries, and procedures were followed by a warm smile and “thank you” to those providing care to him.
Leonel is proceeded in death by his mother, Amanda Luz Diaz, his son Bryan Silva, his brothers Marcos Meza and Hugo Silva. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; daughter Kimberly Silva, grandson Alexander Silva, sisters Rosa Otilia Celada, Ana Najarro, Aura Meza, and Sonia (Erick) Toso, brother Mario Silva and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many more extended family members.
