Leonso Sauceda

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, Leonso Sauceda Ruiz, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at age eighty-nine. Born to the late Jose Carmen Sauceda and Vicenta Ruiz, Leonso spent his early years in agricultural work in the fields of Texas. His tremendous work ethic caught the eye of his fellow workers who decided to invite him to visit their hometown of El Cocono in Mexico. Little did Leonso know that his two weeks spent visiting would lead him to the love of his life, his future wife and mother of his children, Juana. After letter correspondence between Leonso and Juana, a relationship blossomed, and the rest was history.
Leonso is survived by his wife Juana Sauceda of nearly fifty years; his four children, Graciela Trejo, Lionel Sauceda, Leonardo Sauceda, Lily Sauceda; and his three grandchildren, Alina Sauceda, Yaritza Sauceda, and Alonzo Sauceda.
A man of simple pleasures, Leonso was a lover of animals, chocolate, and dance. He was a devoted, supportive, and charismatic husband. He was a loving, patient, and caring father. He was a respectful, loyal, and attentive friend.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 West Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, IL 60630. Leonso's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 12, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 1850 North Hermitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetary in Hillside, IL.
