LEOTHA MARION HOOPER, born on August 23, 1921, in Gary, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, in Duncanville, Texas. She leaves behind a rich legacy shaped by her passions and her love for life.
Leotha was a vibrant spirit, known to all as a people person who thrived on connections with others. Her warmth and genuine interest in those around her made her a cherished friend and confidant. She had an insatiable love for reading, finding joy and adventure in the pages of countless books. This passion for literature was complemented by her love for traveling, as she explored different places and embraced new experiences throughout her life. Leotha's profound appreciation for culture and community was evident in her unwavering commitment to attending church, where she found fellowship and purpose.
In celebration of her life, a viewing will be held at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on March 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the following day, March 29, 2025, at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Leotha Marion Hooper’s remarkable journey reflects a life filled with love, laughter, and an earnest pursuit of knowledge and connection. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
