LeRoy Anderson, 81, Minot, ND, formerly of Ryder, ND, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, in his home in Minot.

LeRoy Arnold Anderson was born April 26, 1944, in Minot, ND. He was one of seven children born to Arnold J. and Alice (Knutson) Anderson. He was raised on the family farm, located southwest of Ryder, ND, with his six siblings and four cousins. He attended Blue Hill School and later Ryder High School. As a young adult, he assisted his parents with the operation of the family farm and with ranching.

He was drafted in the United States Army on August 5, 1965. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged July 18, 1967.

Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Minot. LeRoy married Diane Moran on March 16, 1970, in Stanley. They made their home in Ryder, Garrison, and eventually settling in Minot. He worked for Bechtold Paving and later Gravel Products, retiring in 2015. Diane passed away March 8, 2014.

He was a member of the Minot Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #753. He enjoyed fishing.

His loving family includes: sons, LeRoy "Tubby" Anderson, Jr., and Andy Anderson, Parshall, ND; grandchildren, Kelly and Mason Liedholm; Tayla Roy, Dalton LeRoy Savage, Faith Marie Strukness; Sheridan Poitra, and Julian, Carlie, and Aiden Anderson; Braden, Logan, Tyler, Kelsie, and Zaiden Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lane and Terry Anderson

4 sisters, Bonnie Schenfisch, Marlene (James) Boechler, Kathy (John) Ouradnik, Lana (Frank) Sanborn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane; daughters, LeAnn Liedholm and Terri Grissom; grandchildren, Carson Anderson, Kevin Liedholm, Tyler Mackroy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral: Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Ryder Community Center, #40 6th Ave West, Ryder, ND.

Interment: St. Bridget's Cemetery, Parshall, ND.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
