Mr. Leroy Rochester, age 80, of Centre, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Rochester was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on April 2, 1945, son of the late John Toliver Rochester and the late Catherine West Rochester. He was also preceded in death by four siblings, George Harold Rochester, Bernice Goodman, Martha Haney, and Patricia Owens, and by a special friend, Betty Reed. Mr. Rochester was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. Prior to retirement, he worked for many years as an electrician. Mr. Rochester enjoyed fishing and the companionship of his two dogs, Lucy & Jake. He loved watching his grandchildren at their various sporting events, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family at family events and gatherings.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Stansell and Kim Russell (Chyanne); a brother, Fred Rochester (Nancy); a sister, Brenda Langham (Charles); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1pm (Georgia time) in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Rev. Chyanne Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery, Centre, Alabama, with the Rome American Legion Honor Guard presenting military honors.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Saturday from 11am until 12:45pm (Georgia time).
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Saturday at 12:30pm and include Calvin Russell, Sam Russell, Colby Amos, Brody Amos, Knox Amos, and Hank Russell.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of ProHealth Hospice and Cherokee Village Assisted Living (especially his "Angel" and his "#1") for all their love and care.
