Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home - El Dorado Springs on Mar. 3, 2025.
Lerri Lea McFadden made her journey home to Heaven on February 28, 2025, while surrounded by her family. Lerri's story began with her birth on November 19, 1957, in Valentine, Nebraska to her parents, Bert and Lou McFadden. In 1958 the McFadden Family moved to their ranch outside of
El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Lerri attended school at El Dorado Springs, graduating in the Class of 1976.
Lerri's family was her greatest blessing. Her children Amber, Haley, Seth, and bonus daughter Randa were the light of her life, well that is until the grandkids: Addy, Sawyer, Kiera, Dayton, Aden, Kaysen, Hudson, Zuri, Rylah, Henry, and great-granddaughter Weslyn came into the picture. She loved having the grandkids over to spend the night to cook, watch movies, make snap chat videos, play games, and taking them shopping, her favorite pastime.
While the children were young, Lerri worked at Sibley's Grocery Store and Allison's Convenience Store. However, in 1992, Lerri found her calling as a Nurse, graduating from the Nevada Area Vocational Technical School of Practical Nursing Class #28. Lerri started her nursing career at the Stockton Nursing Home, where she met lifelong friends including her soul sister, Connie Fisher. Lerri also worked at the Community Springs Nursing Home and Cedar County Memorial Hospital, where she received her Wound Care Certification. The Stockton Nursing Home/Lake Stockton Health Care Facility was dear to Lerri's heart, so she returned to work there until her cancer diagnosis led to her retirement in 2022. The residents that she cared for became her second family.
Lerri became a fierce WARRIOR in 2020 when she was diagnosed with cancer. She showed us all what it meant to be courageous, strong, and resilient. She always would say "It's just part of the journey". During this time, she would draw strength from reading her Bible. She was blessed to receive great care from Dr. Leo and his staff at Central Care Cancer Center in Bolivar, Missouri, nevertheless God had other plans for Lerri.
Lerri is survived by her children: Amber Strauch (Kurt) of Milo, Missouri, Haley Williams of
El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Seth Williams of
El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and Randa Bruce (Matt) of
El Dorado Springs, Missouri; grandchildren: Addy (Brett) of Jacksonville, Florida; Sawyer (Hannah), Kiera, Dayton, Aden, Kaysen, Hudson, Zuri, Rylah, Herny and great-granddaughter Weslyn all of
El Dorado Springs, Missouri; brother, Lonnie McFadden (Cindy) of Lamar, Missouri; and sister, Pam Beard (Rick); nieces, Gloria Greenstreet (Jason) and Emily Bennett (Ron); and nephews, Chris McFadden (Lizzy) and Jesse Beard.
