Lesley Wrey Malone, a spirited soul and a beacon of love for his family, passed peacefully on October 24, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on June 27, 1927, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Lesley grew up in a time that shaped his strong character and vibrant personality—a combination that endeared him to countless people throughout his life.

Lesley wore many hats during his career at the Universal Atlas Cement Company, where he showcased his diverse skills as an electrician, crane operator, and maintenance worker. His work ethic and dedication were matched only by his commitment to his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Betty Malone, and together they built a life filled with laughter and cherished memories. Lesley's sense of humor shone through as he embraced his identity as a prankster, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

A proud veteran, Lesley served his country in the Army, a testament to his bravery and dedication. Beyond his professional and military pursuits, he had a passion for simpler pleasures—none more satisfying than the peace found in fishing. Those who knew him well will fondly remember him casting his line with the same devotion he reserved for his family.

Lesley leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and their three children: Lesley Malone (Patricia), Randy Malone (Debbie), and Mary Finney (Melvin). His warmth and kindness are reflected in the lives of his twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons he imparted and the love he shared.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lela Malone, his son Eldon Malone, his infant daughter Pauline Malone, grandson Eddie Malone, his great great-granddaughter Reilley Johnson, his seven brothers, and three sisters. Though his earthly journey has come to a close, the love and laughter he spread will continue to resonate within the hearts of his family and friends. As we remember Lesley, we celebrate a life richly lived—a life devoted to family, humor, and the simple joys of his life.

His spirit will forever live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish. Rest in peace. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
