Leslie Suzanne Dunn, 57, Knoxville, TN, lost a long battle with cancer Sunday, July 10.
Born December 2, 1964, she was graduate of Central High School ('83) and The University of Tennessee ('87). Leslie was a paralegal with Arnett, Draper & Haygood until she was diagnosed terminal. Her career spanned working with firms in Knoxville, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Texas.
Her hobbies were sports, sports, and more sports. She was a rabid baseball fan (Red Sox and Yankees) and anything tennis. She had a subscription to every sports channel that cable had to offer, but in the end, she found herself watching reruns of Reba, Golden Girls, and all the trashy housewives' franchises.
She was made to take tap dance lessons, against her will, at a very early age. Her great disdain for the art form made for rousing recitals, great pictures and helped develop the general hard headedness for which she was famous.
Her back porch was a haven for all her friends to come and hangout, watch TV, and enjoy peace away from any troubles. Her house was a getaway.
She is survived by mother and father, Elizabeth Sue and William Malcolm Dunn, her dog "Theo Epstein", brother James Malcolm "Chip" Dunn, nieces Madison Taylor Dunn (her mother Angie Doyle who she always referred to as her "Sissy"), Brooklyn Skye Dunn and nephew Jackson River Dunn (their mother Robin Dunn), uncles Pat Hinds and James Bascom Woolsey III, aunt Jeanie Woolsey, cousins Jami Schmid (Bobby), Terri Berrelleza (Jessie), and James "Jay" Bascom Woolsey IV (Becca), second cousins Betsy Schmid and Joy Cook and a host of friends too long to list, many of whom will be surprised of her passing because she kept her illness so private.
She is also survived by her best friend and caregiver, all around salt of the earth, Carolyn Bradshaw, and her husband Mike Bradshaw. Carolyn went far beyond what could ever be asked or expected of a friend and selflessly took care of her throughout every stage of her sickness...to the very end. She spent countless hours with Leslie, all the while balancing her own work and family life. Our family will forever be indebted to her, and she will always be thought of as part of our family.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.

I was stunned and saddened to hear this tragic news. Although we hadn't kept up over the years, I have very fond memories of my days at Leslie's house. She truly was a great friend!

My deepest condolences to the Dunn Family. Leslie was the smile that lit up a room and I will always cherish our High School football game memories. Much love to Chip, her friends and all who loved her.
