Leslie Clyde Hargrove, a beloved family patriarch and dedicated hard worker, passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 25, 1938, Leslie dedicated his life to hard work and family.
Leslie was a devoted family man whose grandchildren lovingly referred to him as "Pawpaw." He found great joy in spending time with them, sharing stories and life lessons. His work ethic was unmatched; Leslie was a man who couldn't stay still, always striving to provide for his family. He worked tirelessly in the coalmines of Wyoming and Georgia after spending many years with the construction company Wright & Lopez. Later, he proudly owned D&L Backhoe, showcasing his ability to operate and repair any machinery he came across. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his best friend, Victor Griffin, with whom he shared many cherished moments and experiences.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Leslie was known for his generous spirit. He had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished the moments he could escape to nature. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, camping, and he delighted in traveling to explore new places.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Thompson Hargrove; his wife, Donna Hargrove; his brothers, Henry and Thomas; and sisters, Dorothy and Gail. He is survived by his sons, Michael E Hargrove (Vicki), Timothy W Hargrove (Susan), and Jimmy D Hargrove; daughter, Connie Sue Folsom (Ty); brother, Jerry Wayne; sister, Patricia, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Buddy will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his love and legacy will endure. Funeral services will be held with a graveside ceremony at West Hill Cemetery 457 Pine St, Trion, GA 30753 on September 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
