Leslie Arthur Roseborough, 88 of Rupert, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Dad was born September 4, 1936, in Santa Barbara, California to Arthur Chester Roseborough and Louise Maria Austin Roseborough. He lived in California until he was about 7 years old when his family moved to St. Anthony, Idaho. There he loved to help out his grandfather with the work in the timbers. He attended school in St. Anthony where he had a teacher that later in life became his Sister-in-Law.
As a young boy dad helped his family build their basement home along with digging their well. He enjoyed doing things with his hands. During the summers of his school years, he would work out in the timbers where he would saw logs and haul the wood.
Dad loved to play sports whenever he was given the chance. He played basketball and football. While playing quarterback in football in the 9th grade dad was injured with a broken collar bone. After that his mother told him he couldn't play sports anymore. However, dad found intramural sports and played them. He continued to play sports until he broke his ankle.
After leaving high school dad moved to Utah and worked cleaning clothes. He didn't stay there long and moved back to work in the timbers and the potato harvest. After moving to Rupert dad worked at Ore-Ida and then Kraft Foods where he retired.
While on a double date dad met what he thought was the most beautiful girl in the world. He quickly started dating GeNeve Virgin and on June 1, 1956, in Rexburg, they were married. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 16, 1964. They moved to Dubois, Idaho, for a short time and then to St. Anthony. In 1960, they moved to
Rupert, Idaho, where they raised their family. Dad was a religious man even though he didn't always attend church. Him and mom later in life served a Latter Day Saint mission at the LDS Cannery for 18 months in Burley.
Dad loved sharing his talents of gardening with anyone. He would make sure that he would plant extra produce just so that he could share with all of his friends and co-workers, along with strangers that would walk by the house.
Leslie is survived by his children, Jacqulyn (John) Viula of Delta, Utah, Dayn (Ann) Roseborough of Murtaugh, Bruce (Tina) Roseborough of Wendell, Steven (Maritess) Roseborough of Rupert, Angela (Rob) Davidson of Rupert, Todd (Elisa) Roseborough of Newcastle, Wyoming, Rashell (Chris) Heuston of Rupert and Ryan (Kim) Roseborough of Pocatello; and his sister, Arvilla Handburg.
