Leslie Summers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory - Roswell on Jan. 8, 2026.
Leslie Wayne Summers went to heaven and became an angel on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, in Roswell, N.M. at the age of 68.

On January15th, 1957 he was born in Roswell, N.M. to Lester A. Summers and Inez L. Looney. When he was a young kid he started working with his step-dad Bob Rutledge who owned and operated Eastern New Mexico Tree Service. He also worked for Culligan Soft Water for a couple of years. Later he established his own business, "Us & Them's" Tree Service.

My dad was also wild and crazy but he was only God Fearing. He believed in the Lord with is whole heart and he also believed in Angels.

When he got his Harley "Angel" he always enjoyed the open road ahead as he lived in the fast lane. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He also loved all his family, whether they were blood or not. All his time spent with those he loved he always cherished every day. He always said, these are our Golden Years and we have to cherish the time we get because one day it will all be gone. "Together we stand, divided we fall."

He also loved the outdoors as where he spent most of his time enjoying everything he loved. From hunting, camping with family, and fishing with his cousin George Andrews. He spent his life at the river drinking, fishing, and shooting his guns.

At my dad's house we always had cookouts, bon fires, loud music that would rock the house, partying and dancing with all his family and friends and just living the life he loved. If I could write a book about him it would be one of the greatest stories ever told. He was one of a kind with a heart of gold. Now all we have are the pictures and memories that we will forever cherish and never let go. I wish we had more time to fulfill some of your dreams and make them come true, but God took you home because he needed you. We will always keep you in a safe place in our hearts and remember everything about you. We have to figure out how to get through this life without you by our side. We love you and miss you every single day but it helps us get through knowing you are with us each step of the way. We will try to stay strong and remember everything you taught us all these years. We love you always and forever our Hero, our best friend, our everything. May you rest in peace now and enjoy heaven as I'm sure it is beautiful and everything we thought it would be.

He is preceded in death by Lester A. Summers, Inez L. Looney, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, along with a few good friends.
