Lessie "Lucy" Statzer

Lessie "Lucy" Statzer, 81, a lifelong resident of Florida, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2024. She was born on September 2, 1942, in Winter Haven, Florida, to Add Isaac and Lessie Virginia Heard Snipes. Lessie was a dedicated bookkeeper for over 20 years at Bagley Bait Company until her retirement. She was a cherished member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, FL.
Lessie loved her family, her faith, and her church community. She found joy in cooking, baking, and watching her favorite TV show, NCIS. Known for her selflessness, Lessie always put the needs of others before her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Thomas S. Statzer, and her daughter, Marsha Lynn Statzer. Lessie is survived by her son, Scott M. Statzer, and wife Stacey of Lakeland, FL; her brother, Austin Snipes, and wife Helen of Colorado; her sister, Judy Christian, and husband Bob of Kodak, TN; grandchildren, Aspen Statzer and wife, Austin of Camp Lejeune, NC, Emily Vaughn and husband Justin of Fort Meade, FL, and Clay Jenkins and wife Nicole of Lakeland, FL; great-grandchildren, Nash Vaughn, Wrenley Vaughn, and Carter Jenkins; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10:00 am, until the funeral service at 11:00 am, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Her final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL.
