Lester Gerhart Obituary
Lester R. Gerhart, Jr., 71, of Ewing, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Capital Health Systems at Fuld in Trenton, NJ.
Born in Trenton and raised in Levittown, PA, Lester returned to New Jersey after the passing of his parents and became a longtime resident of Ewing. He was employed by General Motors, where he dedicated 32 years of service before retiring.
A man of few words, Lester deeply appreciated the kindness of others. A devoted fan of Philadelphia sports, he was a proud Eagles season ticket holder for over 30 years and had a lifelong passion for the Sixers and the Phillies. He was also an avid golfer and a loyal fan of Tiger Woods. In retirement, Lester stayed active by working a variety of part-time jobs.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lester R. Gerhart, Sr., and Isabel (Schmidt) Gerhart, as well as his two siblings. He is survived by his three nephews, two nieces, their families, and many dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610
A prayer service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery, 600 Newtown Yardley Road Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 https://www.stjude.org
