Dr. Lester M. Haddad, Jr., 80, died naturally at home surrounded by his children on October 10, 2022.
He was born in Washington, DC on September 7, 1942. Lester attended Gonzaga High School and Holy Cross College. He graduated with Cum Laude Honors from Georgetown Medical School in 1967. He started his family during that time with Marilyn Southall of Richmond, VA. He served in the US Navy as a doctor from 1968-1970 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Haddad devoted his life to serving his patients and was known for his happy spirit and warm smile. Specializing in Emergency Medicine and Toxicology, he published a multi-volume text book that served medical education institutions worldwide. He furthered his education later in life by obtaining a Master of Arts degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2006. After retiring from St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital, he volunteered his time providing Pastoral Care at St. Joseph's Hospital. He enjoyed teaching religion courses at St. Leo University and was proud to teach Bible classes at St. James Catholic Church.
Lester was known for his compassion to others and dedication to his Catholic faith. He loved his Lebanese heritage, the Washington Redskins, the Washington Nationals, and most of all he loved his family. Being a father and grandfather was his greatest joy.
He is survived by six of his children, Matthew David Haddad, Joseph Rhett Haddad (Jennifer), Charlene Rebecca Dimond (Jacob), Daniel Southall Haddad, Elizabeth Anne Beringson (Marc), and Madeleine Haddad Shaver (Edwards), as well as ten grandchildren: Thomas Southall Robinson, Patrick Keith Dimond, Philip Jeffrey Robinson, Amelia Elizabeth Haddad, Rebecca Jeanne Dimond, Emaline Roane Haddad, Lilly Anne Beringson, Owen Davis Beringson, George Boone Shaver, and John Stephen Shaver, all of Savannah, GA.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lester Marcel Haddad, Sr. and Sara Mary Haddad along with two of his children: Stephen Roane Haddad and Jeanne Meredith Robinson.
Visitation: 10am- 12pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 12pm, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah, GA 31406. PRIVATE BURIAL.

An Amazing steward of his career who showed patients such dignity and love. I remember working with him at St. Joseph´s and he always had a warm smile. He made the nurses confident in asking questions and voicing our concerns. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.
