Lester Kusmaul, 88, Osage City, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Vintage Park Care Center, Osage City.
Lester Kusmaul was born February 28, 1937 at Emporia, Kansas, the son of Carl and Esther (McDaniel) Kusmaul. Lester was united In marriage with Shirley Ann Rees on July 21, 1957 in Emporia. She died August 18, 2019. Surviving family members include sons; Mark L. (Vickey ) Kusmaul, Emporia, Steven J. Kusmaul, Emporia, Kansas, daughters; Patricia A. (Mark Wendel) McConnell, Maize, Kansas, and Gina J. ( Brad) Nuessen, Emporia, Kansas. Grandchildren; Ryan, Brandon, and Tyler Naylor, Katelyn and Taylor Vonfeldt, Megan, Asherman, Cole Nuessen, Braden Kusmaul and MaKayla Kusmaul and Carson and Gabby Kusmaul, and 6 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter; Tamalin S. Naylor, Great-granddaughter; Reese Naylor, and a daughter in infancy; Suzanne C. Kusmaul
Mr. Kusmaul was a manager at Bluestem Farm & Ranch and was employed there for 40 years. He later worked for Muckenthaler, Inc. He was devoted in his religion and was a member of the First Congregational Church, Emporia.
A private family committal service has been held at Phillips Cemetery west of Reading, Kansas.
Lester’s family and friends will gather in his memory at the Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church, Emporia, Kansas on Saturday, December13, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Memorials have been established with the church, or Advent Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801 which is assisting with arrangements.
