Lester Paul "Pete" Mathieson

Lester Paul “Pete” Mathieson Sr., 63, of Jackson Center, PA, passed away at his residence on May 18, 2025. Pete was born on September 3, 1961 to the late Robert and Sadie Mathieson.

Pete was a simple man. He enjoyed his home, his friends and family, and riding his four-wheeler. He liked to watch old western shows and listen to old western music. He also enjoyed helping Minor Acres on their farm. He loved his dogs, Festus and April.

Pete is survived by his fiance, Diana Black; his children, Lester Paul (Fay) Mathieson Jr. and Mike (Amanda) Mathieson; his grandchildren, Jeremiah and Malaci Mathieson, Dominique (Will) Clark, Austin, Payden, Karson, and Kelsey Mathieson, Myka (Anthony) Day, and Chance and Jayleigh Mathieson; his 3 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Robert “Bob” Mathieson, Margaret “Peg” Guthrie, Ralph “Punch” Oakes, and another brother Robert “Bob” Mathieson.

Pete was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Mathieson, his sister, Cheryl McCoy, his son, Jason “Pork” Mathieson, and his grandson, Lester Paul Mathieson III.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin St, Stoneboro, PA, 16153. Family and friends will be welcome at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service for Pete will be held on Friday, May 23, at 11am; there will be an hour of visitation prior to the service.
