Lester (Les) Edwin Monn, Jr., 76, of Punta Gorda and Harrisburg (Piketown), Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Les was a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Faith Tabernacle Church School in Harrisburg, PA.
Les was initiated into the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 143, as a journeyman in 1970. Les began his career at Three Mile Istand and the Hershey, Lebanon, and Harrisburg areas. Subsequently, he began his own company, Lemco Electric, Inc. in 1982 until retirement, thirty years later.
Les met the former, Linda Marrone in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1970 and they married on September 11, 1971.
Upon retiring, Les and Linda changed residency to Punta Corda, Florida and spent winters there but returned to their PA home during the summers.
Les' hobbies included music and playing numerous instruments, for which he showed an interest, and was able to play them by ear. He restored antique cars and boats, golfed, played in a darts league and enjoyed The Chesapeake Bay with many, many good friends, while on his Chris Craft, Playmate. Les genuinely enjoyed helping his treasured friend, Rick Treworgy, to keep his Muscle Car City Museum showpieces shiny and well maintained.
Les is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and seven siblings: Sandra Monn, Michael Monn (Vicki), Thomas Monn (Jeannie), Carolyn Sue Blauch, Cwendolyn Zapp, Janice (Greg) and Glenn Monn (Cindy) and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private Celebration of Life at a future date in Pennsylvania as well as a second Celebration of Life in October of 2025 in Punta Carda, Florida.
Les will be remembered for his kindness, his intelligence, his quick wit and his keen sense of humor!
