Some glad morning when this life is o'er; I'll fly away. And so he did!

Lester Charles (Bob) Puckett passed from this life, Monday, November 17, 2025. He was born December 13, 1932, in Coleman County, Texas to Herman and Vernie (Chew) Puckett.

Bob attended Mozelle High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1951. His assignment was airplane mechanic, which allowed him the opportunity to visit many countries in Europe and North Africa.

After completing his military service, he began his career with Civil Service, working at both Goodfellow Airforce Base in San Angelo and Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring. While at San Angelo, he met and married Lou Evelyn Mitchell. Born to them were two daughters, Delores Diane and Myrna Kathleen.

In 1966, they moved to Comanche where Bob was employed by Army Corp of Engineers at Proctor Lake until he retired in 1989.

Bob loved to hunt, fish, and do all kinds of metal and woodwork. He was a faithful member or the Pearl Street Church of Christ, serving as Bible class teacher, deacon, and as an elder in the church.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Delores Diane; parents, Herman and Vernie Puckett; brothers, Doyle D. and Carl Dean Puckett.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lou, of 68 years; daughter, Kathy Ballard and husband, David; sisters, Vernell Purcell, Sue Hudson and husband Charles, Traci Huxford and husband, Bruce; brother, James and wife, Cheryl; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
