Leticia Torney Obituary

Leticia Reyes Torney
Born July 25, 1929
She is the fourth child of Alfonso Reyes Sr and Isabel Deleyba and sister to
ne Jose, Edilberto, Alfonso Jr., Augusto and nee Alice. Survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
On October 9, 2025 our beloved
aunt - known to her family as Tita Lets
has made her Christian journey home to the True Jerusalem.
She lived an adventurous and pious life most could only dream of. She loved to read; and her books carried her sight to far-away lands.
After graduating from the University of the Philippines Dilman, She was offered a job in a coastal town called La Jolla (San Diego), California at the age of 21. There she worked and continued her education earning a Master's in Medical Technology. With faith as her armor and her hat tilted with determination, she forged ahead to conquer the world - as only a petite 4'10, 23-year-old could - with wonder and might.
From California she moved on to work in the Medical Sampans of Hong Kong, and from there her ultimate dream Europe. Working in Switzerland as her base, she traveled across the continent immersing herself in every culture she touched, becoming a linguist in order to communicate more effectively. She spoke English, Mandarin, Spanish, German, French with a little sprinkling of Tagalog.
In the forefront of her mind is to successfully fulfill her mother's request, and in 1967 was granted a private, audience and blessings from Pope Paul VI for herself, her mom and sister Alice. This she frequently refer to as the utmost highlight in her life.
And then to the Land of Maple, Canada. She worked in Toronto and a full circle back to join the rest of her family in the Land of Liberty, The United States.
She lived and worked as well in Baltimore (MD) Denver (CO) California Florida and finally settled with her siblings in Chicago Illinois working for the Illinois Blood Bank
She retired at the age of 72 devoting her time to her family and to her faith - volunteering at churches and joining friends on pilgrimages, taking time to enjoy her coffee while cheering to a favorite sports team and of coursewith
the constant echoes of EWTN filling
her room.
No matter where she is, she is there to give aid to friends and family, so maybe for that very reason Tita you were meant to be at the end of. that branch of the family tree - and to foresee a strong foothold of the family's next generation. US
We'll take it from here Tita.
Enjoy that Grand Heavenly Reunion Table with our Lord and loved ones
You are all scored in our hearts.
Your family and friends thank you
We love you We will miss you
We will remember you.
REST NOW TITA LETS
WELL DONE
