Liane M Smith

Liane M. Smith, 71, of Dover, died at dawn with family by her side while in hospice care at Wentworth Douglas Hospital on October 4, 2025.
Liane is survived by her beloved sons, Jack Holland, of Melrose, MA and Michael Holland and his wife Grace, of Medford, MA, sister Susan Crowley and her husband, Bob, of Medford OR, brother Greg Smith and his wife Laurie, of Dover, sister Jean Kelley of Abington, MA, and sister-in-law Maureen Smith of Virginia Beach, VA. Liane is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Liane was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Hunt, of Dover, NH and brother, Kevin Smith, of Virginia Beach, VA. Liane was born in 1953 in Dover, NH to the late Agnes (McKenna) and Thomas Smith. Liane devoted her career to teaching NH students grades K, 2, 4, 5 and 6. She is remembered for enriching the lives of countless students, friends, and family members with her humor, intelligence, and kindness.
A private celebration of life event was held.
