COMBS, Libby Alma Elizabeth was born on February 11th, 1919 in Paris, Texas to Bonnie Belle and Louis Price. She passed away on Friday, November 26th 2010 in Scottsdale Arizona after 91 years of giving to her family and friends. As a young woman Libby traveled on her own to Washington DC where she worked for the federal government for one year. Other than being a devoted and loving wife and mother, Libby worked at ASU during semester registrations. Libby married the love of her life Charlie Charles Combs on October 3rd, 1945. They were married for 62 years and in retirement enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their motor home. Both Libby and Charlie were active, dedicated and giving members of Community Christian Church in Tempe, Arizona since they moved to Tempe with their family in 1965. Both served as Elders and were honored to be Elders Emeritus. Libby served as President of Church Women United and actively attended the national church conferences for the Disciples of Christ Church. She received the distinguished award of "Woman of the Year" from Church Women United signed by United States President Bill Clinton. Libby is survived by her brother Bill and his wife Mary of Oklahoma, her children Cathy Hunsaker, Dr. Ed Combs and his wife Loren, Bob Combs and his wife Martie, and her grandchildren, Cristin, Taylor, Aubrey, Sara and Andrew. She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Combs.A celebration and remembrance "May You Be Blessed" of Libby's life will be this Saturday, December 4th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Community Christian Church located at 1701 S.
