Resident of Westfield for 83 years
Libra Dinino, 87, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025 at McAuley Hall Healthcare Center in Watchung. Born in Roselle Park to Anthony and Philomena Dinino, she had lived there until moving to Westfield in 1942. Libra attended Westfield public school and worked for Hahne's Department Store, Manhattan Bagel, Classic Thyme, all in town. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church since 1945, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for 23 years, a Rosarian, and member of the choir and the Sweet Adeline Singing Club since 1970.
Libra became an associate of The Lay Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa's Order on June 1, 1996 at Holy Triunity.
Most recently, she was a resident of McAuley Hall Healthcare Center in Watchung, NJ, where she received great care and was very happy to be able to spend the last year and eight months.
Predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Philomena (Passariello) Dinino. She is survived by her three sisters, Gloria Guarino (Frank J. deceased), Philomena Markiewicz (Gary), and Marie Billingsby (Keith); her nephews, Frank A. Guarino (deceased), Gary M. Markiewicz (Rhodora), Jason Billingsby (Jennelle); nieces, Gina M. Klemm (David), Carolyn Diamond (Kent), Dana Hannis (Ian), and Jessica Billingsby; great-nieces, Analise DiProfio (Chris), Sarah and Rachel Klemm, Natalie Diamond, Scarlett Hannis and Ashley Billingsby; and her great-nephews, James C. Diamond, Matthew Billingsby, and Wyatt Hannis.
Visitation will be at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Monday, January 13th from 3-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 14th at 10AM at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Westfield. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, Libra requested that donations be made to Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 315 First Street, Westfield, NJ 07090 or to McAuley Healthcare Center, 1633 US 22, Watchung, NJ 07069.
